Time to say farewell again to the life I’m leavin’ behind,
My pocket watch says a new day has come, there’s a different man in my mind.
I sang a song or two about hope and friendship and love.
I used to wonder if these were false dreams, it’s one fear I’ve risen above.

Sometimes you have a hope in your heart, that someone’ll help you haul the load.
Well, I see a sky, pastelled in blue, & I’ve heard a tune that calls in what’s new.
Now I’ve dreamed a life where faith paints the view,

I’ll see a girl that I’ll grow to love, it may take her a while to perceive it,
So I’ll say what I know and show what I feel, until she can believe it.

I felt a breeze come blow my way, it gave my mood a lift,
A forceful flow, it knew where to go, I always seem to drift.
I caught a gust within my hands, I asked to come along,
And as it rose and whistled by, I heard it sing this song:

Then you’ll see for what you must live,
Then you’ll understand.

I’ll answer soft and low.”
But the wind blew away before I could ask,
“By what name do you go?”

I felt a girl come touch my soul, each moment seemed to toll,
A remembered face I couldn’t place, from lifetimes long ago.

I slow-played my heart, the better part, another point of view,
And as she up and left my side, this future scene withdrew:

You have to act on what you feel,
Just how else can you go?

But she was gone before I could ask,

+ Eventide

Eventide,
Life sends you through its ebbs and flows,
Emotions come, love grows and grows,
Something inside you becomes so alive,
And out you go with the tide.

The crimson sun, the salty spray,
Turn you into yesterday’s play,
Nature’s way is gonna prevail,
You better raise up your sail.

Well, I’m makin’ my way back to the shore, to place my feet in the sand again.
Castles wash away before they’re complete, but you’ll give the sea another spin!

Sittin’ out on the pier, a star just appeared here,
It twinkles bright against the night, it never shows a fear,
That star is where I’m bound, my feet firm on the ground,

Star gazing, riding on a trail of dreams,
So amazing, perched along the lighted beams,

This heart of mine was beatin’ strong,

I searched with a smile, did it in style,

The wizard stood upon the hill, omnipotent and still,
He mouthed a chant, the sky turned black, it gave me such a chill!
Slowly he stirred up the brew, and from the pot he drew,
A wondrous scene that I had dreamed, a life I never knew.

My attempts at love before had always been a bust.
Jokes were made to hide the sore, my love lay dead in the dust.
The prophecies they craved to tell used to make no sense to me.
Dreaming somehow made them real, when my eyes caught on you I could see!

The man of magic stands right here, needs a fearless volunteer,
He pointed to me, would I agree to help the thing appear?
I jumped onto the hardwood floor, I had wanted something new,
Stuck my hand in the hat of time, my one heart became two.

The wand and cauldron help a spell, or so some people tell.
The test of love, without a shove, will likely go pell mell.
To hell with all this magic mess, my dreams are put to rest.
